Who Am I?

I’m Sean Sarmiento, a Software Engineer fueled by a lifelong passion for games and technology. Originally from a small town near Worcester, MA, I discovered Becker College where I started my degree in Interactive media design before completing my Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media with a Concentration in Game Programming at Clark University in 2022.

Professionally, I specialize in Unity and C#, leveraging various plugins to craft immersive gaming experiences. With Unity, I’ve worked on VR projects on headsets such as Meta Quest, Apple Vision Pro, HTC Vive, and Pico using both OpenXR and their respective Plug-ins. Additionally, I've dabbled in AR development using Lens Studio and Meta SparkAR. I firmly believe in “There’s always room to improve” leading me to constantly seek expanding my skill set and becoming better.

On a personal level, I've always been captivated by game design, drawing inspiration from everyday experiences to conceptualize engaging gameplay mechanics. Throughout my academic and professional life, I've had the privilege of collaborating with talented teams and gaining insights from industry veterans through various talks and presentations. Honing my craft and gaining invaluable real-world experience, I hope to keep working on memorable experiences that others can enjoy.

After graduating from Clark I joined the Petricore Games team, where I contributed to a diverse range of projects spanning VR, AR, and mobile gaming. I got to learn a lot from my talented colleges and projects we worked on together. My ultimate goal is to create games and applications that bring joy and excitement to users.
