About Game:
First time working with Unreal Engine, Our small team set out to create a FPS survival game. Set inside the Alien’s space ship you will fight different aliens from small crab like aliens who will crawl and jump at you, to some who will straight up run at you and slice you up, some with guns to shoot at you and Big aliens who will take a couple more bullets to take down.
Although still in development, my next task as of right now is creating the enemy AI. (Gun’s and Main player are stand-ins but the rest in the scene were created by our artists)
My Contribution:
Learned many different nodes and what they do, to develop an unreal project using Blueprints
Using Blueprint system I developed basic game mechanics
character’s movement, shooting, gun pickup, different weapon types, weapon effects(i.e. muzzle flash, bullet holes, etc.), Health and Ammo UI
Learned basic animation with blueprints to place weapons in players hand and animations for reloading the weapon(Gun goes down off screen then comes back up).
Learned a little gunshot vfx like the muzzle flash and bullet sparks on targets
